a young woman and a russian newspaper. the woman is french actress simone signoret, when she was young. the picture comes from the shooting of the movie macadam, by marcel blistène (1946). simone signoret stars as a loose woman, half-swindler, half-whore, who falls in love with the hero. this film noir is interesting because of the comparison with an other woman in the movie, andrée clément, who plays a virtuous woman who works as a cleaning woman in the hotel. she is also in love with the hero, but he is not interested in her. in the end, the loose woman wins. according to noël burch, this kind of confrontation was common in the french cinema during the war and after it: women had to get by without men and their place in society and in cinema changed. the picture shows signoret, sitting in a titillating night dress; the arms and knees of the collage probably also come from the picture.

une jeune femme et un journal russe.il s'agit de actrice simone signoret, jeune. la photo provient du tournage du film macadam, de marcel blistène (1946). simone signoret y interprète le rôle d’une femme légère, mi-escroc mi-putain, qui tombe amoureuse du héros. ce film noir est intéressant pour la comparaison qu’il offre avec un autre personnage féminin (andrée clément) qui, dans le film, est une jeune femme vertueuse qui travaille comme femme de ménage dans l'hôtel - maison de passe. elle est amoureuse du héros, mais il ne s’intéresse pas à elle. c’est donc la fille légère qui gagne. d’après noël burch, ce type de confrontation est caractéristique du cinéma français pendant la guerre et juste après celle-ci : les femmes devaient se débrouiller sans les hommes et donc leur place dans la société et au cinéma en était changée. la photo représente signoret assise en tenue de nuit affriolante, les bras et genoux utilisés dans le collage viennent sans doute également de la photo.
